Rochester man missing for week
Rochester police are searching for a 20-year-old Rochester man who has been missing for a week.
Alonzo Williams of Arnett Boulevard was last seen in his home last Monday evening, said Rochester Police Officer Stephen Scott. Officers believe he left the house that night, while family members slept.
Officers said Williams recently became despondent about life. Police have checked with his friends and family and were not able to find him. Officers are seeking the community’s help to locate Williams
Williams may be wearing a black leather coat and a gray hooded sweatshirt because both were missing from his room, Scott said.
Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to call CrimeStoppers at (585) 423-9300.
If you follow the link, there is a photo of Mr. Williams.

I received the following note from officer Piano requesting that people post the attached poster of Alonzo Williams. There is now a $500 reward for information leading to his whereabouts.
Good Evening Community Partner,
We are looking for your help to pass the word about a missing person. Please post this flyer in as many spots as you can. Alonzo’s family has reported him missing and would like as much help locating him as possible. He was last seen in November.
Please forward the flyer to all your community and business contacts. If you see Alonzo please tell him to contact his family as they are worried about him and contact the RPD.
If you own a business please feel free to post this flyer in a spot that everyone can see.
If you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact me or his family on the number listed on the flyer.
Thank you,
Officer Patrick M. Piano

Alonzo Williams Poster:
Good meeting tonight with the Williams/Wims family AND the Sullivan family who connected through Facebook as they have been looking for their son since 2007. Although I will post minutes of the meeting tomorrow, I want to dispel recent Facebook rumors tonight that Alonzo has been found. Please use only 311, 911 or the CrimeStoppers number (423-9300) to report tips.
Family, Friends & concerned neighborhood residents will meet again on Tuesday, January 3, 2012 at the SW Community Center (275 Dr. Samuel McCree Way) to continue to share resources and ideas for locating Alonzo "L" Williams. The introduction of another family still suffering the loss of their son since 2007 resulted in a plan to host a "Missing Person" event on Saturday, January 28, 2012, at which (1) others who are still looking for missing persons can network, share resources, and receive support and (2) service providers related to finding missing persons can be available to promote strategies and processes.
A "Missing Person" group on Location SW (www.location19.org) is being developed that will contain resources and process information for directing missing person "searches." PLEASE contact group creators or the Location SW administrators (John & Marian Boutet) if you identify inaccurate data so that we can keep this information relevant and useful.
Peace In,
Eleanor
For people who have security cameras or "game camera" that record activity around their homes or stores, please hold off erasing tape or memory cards for images taken since the November 22nd disappearance of Alonzo Williams in case the family needs to follow a trail these devices might provide to find Alonzo.
I traded notes with Nikie Colman, one of Alonzo's aunts, and she said that Lisa Alexander, another aunt, is contacting the RPD to find out where security camersa are located and to pursue reviewing security camera images for the morning of November 22nd. If you know of a neighbor who has a security camera that captures images of a person passing by: 1.) Please contact those neighbors and request they safeguard images taken since 11/22. 2.) Please ask them to contact me (jboutet@frontiernet.net) and the RPD to let them know they have images that may be reviewed.
