Hello,

I recently joined the Location 19 website to make you aware of a college bar that is opening in my neighborhood.  I am a longtime resident on S Plymouth Ave and I just became aware of a gentleman that is trying to open up a college bar at 1155 S Plymouth Ave.  This is the same gentleman that has been buying up properties for students and evicting my friends and neighbors.  I do not think the neighborhood needs a college bar.  We will be inundated with drunk college kids on Friday and Saturday nights.  The city and neighborhood must stand up to prevent this bar.  It will only bring trouble.  The bar name is Plymouth Roc.  That is the same name of the gang that terrorized our streets years ago.  We do not need this.  We do not want this.

Sincerely,
Lucinda

I will do so. I have read your application. It looks well thought out. I see your brother owns the building and you would essentially be renting from him.

@ Barbara - Exactly.

Letter is in your inbox.

wearing baggy clothes does not mean that person is a thug or a threst to the community or to your bussiness we have experienced problems from some college students that had on fitting clothes. It seem that you dont have a dress code for the females just the men, women are just as dangerous.we had a female college student nicely dress have 2 drinks and SPIT ON OUR BAR. we have  had students try to bring beer in we have had them come in already drunk from a house party we are a old school bar most of our customers are older than 35 however we try to serve anyone of age that act according however this has been a challenge and a disappointment in the last several weeks. We have not had any problems from our regular older crowd just the students.

I guess this 'College Town' mentality is also coming to S. Plymouth Ave. and things and ways of doing business will no doubt have to change.  New standards will be set and all must abide.  No doubt, more cameras on that corner will help to keep folks in line.

The dress code applies to all men and all women equally.

Just a FYI: as I rounded the corner of Cottage &  S.Plymouth this evening around 5:55p, I observed 3 males and 1 female sitting/standing on the steps of the building next to yours smoking what appeared to be a 'blunt'.  Being that they are NOT the person I saw thru the window working on a computer a couple of weeks ago, I doubt they are renters at that address.  Looks like folks may be staking out territory.  Just an observation...............Oh, and I did take a pic.

AHHHHH!!! Oh I know! They must have been so high, they were leaning on the door bell!! I went down and told them they were leaning on the door bell. They got off the bell but stayed and smoked their garbage. I called the police but there must have been something else going on further down plymouth because a bunch of them sped right by a few moments later. The mother cam can't get here fast enough!

Yeah, RPD went speeding down Jefferson about that time.  Glad you were also observing.  I have watched this 'street' process many times and know they are staking out their future territory.  The pass way between those 2 buildings is quite notorious!

I am aware. The proposed outdoor dining patio is an intentional barrier. We have the opportunity to take a space with a notorious reputation and make it beautiful outdoor space with plants and maybe a fireplace for residents to come and grab a bite to eat and socialize.

It is also a part of our variance application.

WE Discussed this dress code at the south plymouth ave bussiness meeting and several people found it Racial profilling we hope that Anthony will re do his dress code.Eula
