Hello Everyone!
My name is Anthony D'Alessandro. I am the person responsible for developing the restaurant at 1155 S Plymouth Ave. Up until yesterday I was unaware such a forum even existed. I really think this is a fantastic asset to the community! I am excited to have this opportunity to share our plans with so many people in the community and look forward to, with the help of all of you, getting some meaningful feedback.

First and Foremost it is important that everyone understand that Plymouth ROC is a work in progress. We have a firm compass on what we want it to be and what we do not want it to be. Some issues are certainly negotiable (ie. name, decor, facade, etc) and others are definitively non-negotiable (ie. presentable dress code enforcement, acceptable respectful behavior, and of course quality products & friendly service).

We want to create a high quality, open, inviting, well lit, visible space that is clean where our guests can come and enjoy high quality mid priced ($8 -$12) food and beverage options. All in all we want it to be a place that we are proud to tell others what a delight it is to go there. We want it to be a place where our guests are excited to share their experience with their friends.

We do not want it to continue to be the eye sore that it is today.

Many people have asked, what are my credentials to do this. For the past 5 years I have held a number of positions in the food & beverage department at the Walt Disney World resort. I have had the opportunity to study their leadership strategies and learn first hand the important role that quality, safety, cleanliness, and uncompromised guest service play in the success of a business. We are not in the bar business, we are in the making sure our guests feel happy, safe, and comfortable business. That is what will bring them back.

I understand that we have a journey ahead of us. If we do not strive for the best we will never get it. I am excited to have the opportunity and challenge of taking something that has been an eye sore to the community and turning it into something great.

I look forward to receiving your feedback and would appreciate some menu and name ideas!

Thanks,

Anthony D'Alessandro

Hello Anthony.. took walk down Plymouth Ave. yesterday to see the location. Looks like you have a big job ahead of you. I've often thought about the fact that Plymouth Ave. is kinda the gateway to downtown Rochester from the airport. Right now it doesn't make a very good impression.  Sure hope you are up to the challenge. BTW, I like the name Plymouth Roc...the thugs don't own that name.  Best of luck!

I agree, although you need to give it some thought.  We in the neighborhood are all looking for a great spot to eat, as there are some, but few.  I think the majority of folks here wish you well and hope you succeed.   We can use all the new businesses that meet the needs of the neighborhood.

Variance hearing by the Zoning Board is scheduled for 9:30 AM, on May 17.  Please participate if you would like to show your support.

Thanks for posting Mark. My internet has been working intermittently. YES the hearing is on May 17th at 9:30am. We would really appreciate all the support we could get to move ahead with Frank-N-Steins. Thank you everyone for your support thus far!

This is really exciting!!! Since we started we knew one of the most important elements was going to be maximizing the window space on the plymouth and jefferson sides of the building... Then we thought how cool would it be if they could open... Traditional windows either have to slide or swing... We found double pane insulated retractable garage door style windows that would serve as normal windows when they were down and literally open from floor to ceiling when they were up! Giving a complete outside environment on the inside of the building when the weather was nice and maintain great efficiency closed when the weather is not so nice... This is very similar to what they would look like, ours would of course be built into our establishment as windows not garage doors and be clear not frosted.

Pretty Awesome!

I thought the hearing went really well -- ALL positive, and lots of support from movers and shakers in the community. Let us know, but based on the reaction of the panel I think you'll get most of what you want.

WE GOT EVERYTHING WE NEEDED TO MAKE THIS A SUCCESS!!!! Thank you to everybody for all your comments, concerns and suggestions!! Thank you to everyone who wrote letters and came out to speak on our behalf! You words of kindness are much appreciated! We are so grateful that we can now begin working on the next phase in our journey.

Thanks!
