I love this idea!  It's time has come!!!  I will start floating this idea around our older youth for input.  We have another storefront at 168 Genesee St. next to where The Seedfolk Store will be established (166 Genesee St.).  Might that be a bike repair shop?

We would also have to consider increased/adequate security measures to ensure that bikes don't "ride away" with non-owners.

Perhaps R Community Bikes would be interested in opening a secondary location?

Bike-to-school is a good idea, especially with the current epidemic of childhood obesity.

However, research is mixed on hemet effectiveness. Emphasis on helmets has distracted Americans, Britons, Australians and New Zealanders from skill development and other more-important concerns.

Bike trains, as well as walking school buses, are an interesting possibility if students are close enough to their school.  Portland is an example of such a program, as seen here  http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=1EgjAk...  and here http://vimeo.com/38385810#t=122.  Minneapolis and Atlanta also have some bike trains.
