These features discourage speeding and prevent serious accidents, making streets more accessible for bicyclists, pedestrians, and other users. In the 19th Ward, City of Rochester is starting work on…See More

Hi Mike,

Welcome to Location19.  I'm sure with your work for Healthi Kids you will have many things to post on Location19.  Here is some info to help you use this site.  Now that you are a member, one of the most important things to do in order to follow what is going on in Location19.org is to subscribe to the Daily Email Digest so you receive an update of new activity on the site even if you don't check it every day.  You can also find a list of new information posted by looking at the Latest Activity column on the left side of the Main page.

Check out A Brief Overview on Location19 Structure to get familiar with what's where.  Now that you are a member, when signed-in, you can post to the Main Discussion Forum, Events calendar and Blog section and you can join any of the various groups to participate in the discussions there.  Options for doing these things do not show if you are not signed in.  Only the most recently added 20 groups are shown in the column to the right.  In the tabs above, under the banner picture, Be sure to check out the "All Groups - Icons" sub-tab under the Connect tab.  We are currently up to 69 groups and over 700 members.

To join a group such as SW Education Forum, click on the group, then in the upper right of the group page just under the banner picture, next to your name click on +Join SW Education Forum and you are a group member!   Given what you are currently working on you will also probably want to join the SW Cycling group and the SW Common Council (SWCC) group.  Being a group member lets you post to the group and also permits you to receive email notifications from that group about events and other info that may not be posted on Location19 itself.

The Events calendar on the main page is of course a place you will often want to place posts for events coming up.

There is a ton of information you can search for and read through on Location19.  Be sure you make use of the search options.

I look forward to your participation. If you have any questions don't hesitate to call Marian or me at 328-4271.

John
