Minutes of May 24, 2016 Arnett Block Association meeting
Next Meeting: SPECIAL MEETING WITH CHIEF CIMINELLI, JUNE 21, 5:30-6:30
Police Chief Ciminelli will be joining us for our meeting. We plan to meet at 350 Arnett briefly and then take him on a walk on Arnett from Rugby to Wellington (including Geneva's building), meeting with businesses and pointing out areas of interest. We will then meet back at 350 for REFRESHMENTS and a time to talk more privately indoors. If it rains (really rains) we will meet indoors for entire meeting. Pop it on your calendar and plan to join us!
Officers Carl and Andy reported about the homicide at 590 Frost which is under investigation. Kareem Singletary has been arrested for murder of woman who was killed. On May 17th there was also a shooting at 200 Genesee where someone was shot in the foot-it is under investigation.
Also, an undercover officer bought pot from someone in or around the Buzzin Bee and also bought a loosey there. The man who sold the pot to him was arrested. It was his first arrest.
The Buzzin Bee building will be going on auction (failure to pay taxes) the end of this month and Dave Culeton hopes to purchase it. A tenant in the building of the Buzzin Bee complained about the trash beside and behind the building and the people who go behind the building to urinate. She has tried to work with her landlord to no avail. Carl and Andy will report that also.
A new member reported a dog that regularly is let out of her neighbor's front door to poop in her yard with no leash. She has called Animal control and given a deposition but no change. Carl and Andy helped her out to follow a course of action that will work.
Lt. Hill is working with David Hawkes to see if we can get the lines put back on the diagonal parking between Warwick and Rugby on Arnett. This would help with the parking problem there.
A member has had a problem with a neighbor parking in her driveway. Carl and Andy will be helping her work this out with them.
