The event listed below is an opportunity to hear interesting and useful perspectives on community building.
Mike Butler, Police and Fire Chief of Longmont, CO, will be John and Peter’s guest on the May 29th free dial-in/online conversation at 1:00 pm EDT.
Mike has a lifetime of experience creating a restorative community and implementing restorative justice. He will talk about the role of police and fire departments in building a healthy and just community and describe ways to create a community that welcomes people on the margin — minorities, immigrants, people returning from corrections.
Please join in this special conversation and share your thoughts on community integration of those who have been through the criminal justice system, how a community can convene and galvanize around the gifts of those on the margin, and workable alternatives to conventional approaches to neighborhood safety.
And let us know what else you’d like to share on building community, making connections, fostering neighborliness, encouraging gift-mindedness. Use the comment form on the website or post your ideas and questions on our Facebook page.
