Our Neighborhood Merchants

The objective of this group is to introduce residents of the SW Quadrant to the businesses in their community with the hope that if they are more aware of them they will patronize them more.  We also want to encourage business owners to adapt the the goods and services they offer to serve the needs of a broadened clientele.See More

Voting awareness

I wanted to create a group to talk about things that are happening that affect us politically.  I think we all need to be smart and active voters, and i hope that starting this group will help to facilitate that for the south west.  This group is about sharing opinions and ideas.  Its good to share feelings about the elected officials who represent us, but this really isn't the place to campaign for someone or flat out lambast the people you dislike. The more active and aware we are in regards…See More

Hi Ronald,

Welcome to Location19.  Glad to have you join this site which strives to serve the need of individuals and organizations in SW Rochester.  Now that you are a member you can post to the Discussion Forum, Events calendar and Blog section of this site. You can also join groups on this site that interest you and participate in the discussions there.  Being a group member not only lets you post to the group but it will also permit you to receive email notifications from that group about events and other info that may not be posted on Location19 itself.

I'm looking forward to your setting up a group for the SWAN Association.  One thing you may wish to consider is signing up the SWAN Association as a member of Location19 and using that member persona to set up the SWAN Group.  Check out the  19th Ward Community Association  group and the Susan B Anthony Neighborhood Association group. That is what was done there and what I think COTS and PLEX will do.  That makes it possible for the SWAN Association to post to the group Discussion Forum or the Comment Wall or for you as an individual to post to the group and have it be obvious to readers whether it is an "Association" post or one from and individual.  The officers and office manager, can log in as themselves or as the Association depending on the nature of the post they may want to make.  You can use the SWAN email account for setting up the SWAN membership on Location19 and that will take care of makings it easy to accommodate the transition of officers over the years.

Please be sure to subscribe to the Daily Email Digest so you receive an update of new activity on the site. Without it you will miss the latest activity if you are away from the site for a few days.

Don't hesitate to call Marian or me if you have questions.
