I just created an event, for a health & wellness fair that we are having at Millard E. Latimer & Son Funeral Home at 983 South Plymouth Avenue on August 12th. End-of-Summer Youth Program Celebration Fri, 8/15, 4-7 @ Gandhi Institute, 929 So. Plymouth Ave!!!
Hope this finds you well. I'd like to invite you to join our 2014 Seedfolk Youth Team for our summer program closing celebration / block party-this Friday, August 15, 4-7pm at the Gandhi Institute.
New Seedfolk Store Hours: Tues-Fri, 1:30 - 6 p.m. The Seedfolk Store will not be open on Saturdays during the summer as work shifts toward managing "Seedfolk City Farms" at 929 So. Plymouth (next to the Gandhi Institute) and the E. Main St. Greenhouse location (2271 E. Main St.).
The 9 youth who have been employed for 6 months and working at these location will have a Closing Ceremony on Fri. 6/13 from 4-7 p.m. at The Seedfolk Store.
Preparations are now being made to employ 12 youth through RochesterWorks! and in partnership with the Center for Youth. We have secured funding to continue to employ 2 current youth over the summer in addition to the new team of 12. Visit us on Facebook at www.facebook.com/seedfolkstore.

I'm kind of relieved that Wednesday's weather forecast is for 45 degrees. That will make it easier for folks to decide to come inside to attend Wednesday's workshop at The Gandhi House. Hope to see lots of you there!

Patty Love designs permaculture gardens and lifestyles for herself and
others in Rochester, NY, where she consults and designs as the owner of
Barefoot Edible Landscape and Permaculture, teaches and learns as the
Program Director of the Rochester Permaculture Center, and co-leads as the
Program Director and founder of the public food forest project, Lots of
Food.
Workshop description:
Got lead? Got shade? How about urban wildlife? Permaculture, a design
science rooted in natural systems, informs us how to plan productive
perennial food forests that will feed sub/urban dwellers in even the most
challenging environments - by the block or by the yard. Learn ecological
garden and polyculture design basics as well as advanced problem prevention
and solving to increase the biodiversity, health, and productivity of your
sub/urban garden or farm while discovering some new foods, regenerating the
environment, and reducing your workload.
Make your own Easter egg dyes from things you have in your pantry. All material provided.
