I lost my cat 2 or 3 years ago when I lived in the 19th ward, and every few months or so i make a search effort to find him -- i know it seems silly since its been so long, but i figure there is about as good of a chance that someone took him in as anything else - who knows.

he is a large brown/gray tabby/tiger and white cat - was a little chubby at the time and large framed. neutered but not microchipped.

If someone HAS taken him in I just would love to know - if hes been mistaken for a feral cat (hed gotten out before and tried to play with them before coming back), been feeding him, given him away, brought him to the shelter, what have you -

I'm so sorry; I hope someday you find him.

Have you posted anything with the local vets?
thanks - no - i routinely called shelters, and i taped up a few flyers about when it happened, but i dont have a printer so no picture, and i wasnt in the best of neighborhoods at the time so im not sure they were paid much regard...
This looks remarkably like a cat I've cared for since I moved into my house coming up on 4 years ago. Did your cat happen to have one eye that is injured?
really?!! no, he didnt have an injured eye but he very well could have acquired one, and injury would explain his failure to return...  but, now, he definitely wasn't missing for more than 3 years... has it been?
I looked back at pictures of him when I moved in, and the markings on his face are different. It would be 4 years in June that I moved here, and he was here then. He was also ear-tipped. The first two pictures above don't look like him, but the third did look more like him.
aw, well, worth a try - it seems so likely he could have ended up with the ferals
