Food carts/trucks as neighborhood/neighborly events

The story in today's D&C re: downtown food trucks & carts inspired me to do a bit of research on the very popular food cart venues in Madison, WI, where I live now. In the process I came across a story that made me think immediately of the 19th Ward and how these could be used as a way of bringing neighbors together.

Food carts and trucks are a downtown tradition here in Madison, but they are also spread out everywhere around the city. Among many wonderful ideas, there…

NEW STOP SIGN ON ARNETT AT WELLINGTON.

A message from Susan Morehouse of the Arnett Block Group:

Please take note of the new stop sign on Arnett at Wellington. This has been a dangerous corner and we have been working with the city engineer to remedy that. When they redo Arnett next year they will add crosswalks each direction. Right now, people are not noticing it and running the stop sign. Please be careful! We have arranged to have a traffic officer there during busy times but that means you could also get a ticket if…

Location19 Donations

If you value Location19, consider a donation to help with operating costs.  John and Marian Boutet shoulder this effort, but it is a community effort.  Use the donate button on top left, in whatever amount, so they do not have to pay the whole cost for this website.  Join the Location19 Fans group, if you want!

It costs $300 a year, and we do not want to have them pay the cost.  It is for us!

Thanks.
