Car hit our neighbors house. Penhurst Street

Sheri just shared this information with me. Anthony and I were at the Little last night when this happened. There was a police car at the neighbors house when we got home. Because someone last week ran down the street light in fron of our house, it was too dark to tell that something had happened! Watch out for crazy drivers on Penhurst!

Speeding is getting bad. I've nearly been broadsided backing out of my driveway a couple of times by speeding cars that came barrelling down the street after I'd checked to see that the way was clear. It's very bad on GBP and the side streets. It's a matter of time before someone is badly hurt by a speeding or reckless driver, which would be a terrible thing. Speed bumps on GPB would be a great start, but I've heard they're nearly impossible to get. I'm careful about my own speed, but I know I'm sometimes a distracted driver, and I will do my part by keeping a close eye on my own driving habits and behavior.

I agree Anthony - i have seen (or heard about) more of these accidents in this neighborhood than in any others. We had one on Marlborough several years ago and there was one on/near Arnett last year. Combine it with all of the SPEEDING vehicles we have and it's clear that some of the people who drive in our neighborhood are completely reckless! I continue to wonder what, if anything, is being done to address this type of problem - it's not one of the things that 'neighbors can handle'!

I'm beginning to become massively irritated by the way people drive around here. These are not freak accidents. If you really watch how people drive you can see them speeding, hogging the center of the street, driving unnecessarily slow or just plain stopping and blocking the road altogether. There are way too many "incidents" around here to call accidents. They are the result of recklessness and obliviousness beyond the point of reason. Sorry for the rant, but it's venting time.
