I know that this is not directly related to the 19th Ward. But I feel strongly about the health care debate, and that reform is greatly needed. I do not have health insurance, and can not afford it. So to those who think the system does not need to be fixed. I beg to differ. We need to stop trying to scare each other for political purposes, and do what is right for the nation as a whole. Let have a true debate, that we can be proud of. Debate, compromise and progress.

Hi folks, I have longed worked for health care reform - I've seen too many young and older folks without insurance because it is currently tied to employment or severe poverty. I'm going to the public meeting in Brighton tonight at 6 pm to speak out for it. Thanks for the post!

I am with you Shawn. The opponents of health care reform seem to have pulled out all stops to derail this- fear, lies, misinformation, etc. It's rather astounding to me that the 'average american' reports being fully satisfied with their health insurance as if that single factor alone is enough to consider..... the rising cost of health care and health care insurance is extremely complex but we do know that it is DRAINING our economy and bankrupting families and some businesses. In the meantime, many health care related executives (insurance CEO's, Pharma companies, hospital CEO's) are making a LOT of money. Our country CAN and SHOULD do better!
