I've been following the recent Renaissance Square project/debate and would be interested in hearing more about how our elected City Officials viewed this project. I've seen Dana Miller's comments on TV and in the newspaper but haven't seen anything from any other city council members. Does anyone have additional information on how various council members viewed this project, how they voted, etc??

Even though it's been in the news a lot, it's funny we really didn't hear from City Council members individually. Maybe they were trying to portray a solid front.

I know for me, I am glad that it's dead. Development because Federal money is in hand, is not always the best, or the right thing to do. Maybe now we can have a clear and informed debate about what is best for downtown. Ren Square might have worked if we didn't kill off a great one of a kind original design. Or have come up with the money to build a theater(s). But things change, and able to go see that, and go with, is whats important. What killed Ren Square, was their hesitation to be more fluid with the concept.
