City Budget – our opportunity for input

Posted on April 22, 2016 at 3:39pm 0 Comments

Unfortunately, most of us missed the community forum last night regarding budget priorities.  Please take a few minutes to take the online survey.  As Mayor Warren and her budget committee try to close a $41 million gap in the budget, it is important that they hear from us regarding our priorities.  Open this link,  which will take you to the City of Rochester budget information page,…

Hi Karen  Have you heard of Pac Tac?  It's program administered by RPD where you receive training and walk with a partner, carrying a radio and basically acting as an observer, reporting things like suspicious activities, persons in need of assistance, streetlights out, etc.  Contact  Officer Carl Dickerson or Officer Andy Dimaria at the Genesee Neighborhood Service Center, 428-7630 if you'd likemore information or to register for training.

John thank you for your welcome. I am very curious to see what or how things play out behind the scenes when it come to the future of the 19th ward.   I take frequent walks throughout the neighborhood regularly and I find it exciting and frustrating  at times by some of the things I observe.

Thank you for the details for the site!  I'll add myself to a couple of the groups and try to at least keep up with what is happening on the education front.

As you probably know, resources are being allocated to bring Wilson back to the place it used to be!  One of the goals I have for the PTSO next year is to build community within and around the school.  It is my belief that the school will only be successful if it is filled with students, staff and families that want to be there.  The school and surrounding community should be beneficial to each other!  For example IB students need to have community service hours to graduate.  Some of these hours could be be spent working in the neighborhood and the more students that live in the neighborhood that attend school in their neighborhood the better.

I'm sure we'll have a chance to discuss this more in the near future, maybe at the art show and/or PTSO meeting!
