Our Neighborhood Merchants

The objective of this group is to introduce residents of the SW Quadrant to the businesses in their community with the hope that if they are more aware of them they will patronize them more.  We also want to encourage business owners to adapt the the goods and services they offer to serve the needs of a broadened clientele.See More

Celebrating MLK Day and Luminary Evening

Posted on January 13, 2014 at 4:38pm 2 Comments

Greetings from District 4!

We typically don't see a lot of neighbors in our area come out for events, so we're trying to "do it up" a little more this year and see if we can draw a bigger crowd.

Feel free to drop by and visit the Grissetts, Guckers and Chandler if you able!

Hi William,

I was just looking through all the new 19WCA delegates to invite those who are not members to join Location19.  I see you have been a member since way back in December of 2008.  If you have not been following what is going on in Location19 please take another look at it.  Since you are a member you can post to the main Discussion Forum, Events calendar and Blog section when signed in.  Check out A Brief Overview on Location19 Structure to get familiar with what's where.  In the tabs, Be sure to check out the "All Groups - Icons" sub-tab.  We are currently up to 66 groups and over 600 members.   Since you are now a member of the delegates council of the 19WCA you many want to join the group 19th Ward Community Association.   Just click on the group, then in the upper right of the group page just under the banner picture, next to your name click on +Join 19th Ward Community Association and you are a member!   Being a group member not only lets you post to the group but also permits you to receive email notifications from that group about events and other info that may not be posted on Location19 itself.

A coming event that you may want to try to participate in is the January 15th Education Committee Meeting:   SWCC Education Committee Meeting at the Gandhi Institute for Nonviolence.   The concepts to be reviewed at this meeting could be adapted to the 19th Ward and other parts of the city.

There is a ton of information you can search for and read through on Location19.  Be sure you make use of the search options.

It' a good idea to subscribe to the Daily Email Digest so you receive an update of new activity on the site even if you don't check Location19 every day.  You can also find a list of new information posted by looking at the Latest Activity column on the Main page.

I look forward to your participation. If you have any questions don't hesitate to call Marian or me at 328-4271.

John
