Genesee Valley Little League Update

League preparations continue at a good pace. At the present we need a vice-president, secretary and treasurer. These are all temporary positions necessary for the league to re-charter. A permanent board of directors will be elected in March 2013. If enough volunteers to form a board do not come forth the league will be dissolved. But, I hope not.

Attempted robbery in COTS neighborhood

A member of COTS was involved in an attempted robbery this morning on Adams Street. Someone tried to steal their air conditioner out of their window. Luckily no one was hurt and she was able to scare them off.

Erosion of American freedoms

People deserve a choice and  anyone who attempts to extinguish our choice through the exploitation of NYS Election Laws and loopholes is immoral. It is a direct slap to democracy and what this country is founded upon. Just because you can, does not mean you should. We call this a negative right. With our freedom comes responsibility.

     Many of our freedoms continue to be eroded by despot politicians. Recently my petitions were challenged stating that I and other members of my team including my lady friend and son have committed forgery. This is a political trick! Do not be fooled.

Summer Youth week of July 23

The Week Highlight!

- Goal mapping: the group and I discussed short term, long term, and bucket list. With this activity each person wrote out and personalize their own "vision board". This is something they can reference back to so they don't lose sight of their goals.

-Role playing: We did a lot of practicing before we headed out into the streets to interview local employers each person practiced being an interviewer (themselves), store worker, and observer.

what i did today

The Highlight of my day was making zucchini chips in the kitchen. I learned more about job interviews and how confident is important for a job interview, at Rochester works. Overall today was a good day at work :).

Today my group and I walked around the 19th ward and went to different job associations. My group went to jobs arounnd the chili ave area. We were looking for job openings for youth ages 14-16 . a lot of jobs didnt hire that young because of legal issues . Commonly they would say theyd love to have young men and women to work at their jobs but the economy is bad so hopefully when more buisness comes then theyll be able to hire young people .
