Farmers Market News

The Farmers Market at Highland has reopened!  It will be held again at Cornell Cooperative Extension's Auditorium on Wednesdays, 3-6 PM.  They plan to be open from now until early May.  Stop in for root vegetables, baked goods, pastas, jams, jellies and much more from local vendors.

We have someone who can provide help with paperwork, health forms, school forms, job and housing applications, understanding your bills, and finding community resources here at Arnett Branch Library from 12-3pm. Library Closing

The Arnett Branch and the Phillis Wheatley Library, along with all other Rochester Public Library branches, closed at 3:30 pm today. It is a good evening to stay home and read a good book.  If you do not have a good book at home, why not visit the Monroe County Library System Website and check out one of our ebooks.

What About A Low Power Radio Station For The SW Quadrant

Most of you know I'm trying hard to restart Genesee Valley Little League. As I struggle to get the word out that we are now registering kids, the idea kind of hit me this morning: suppose we had a low power radio station committed to the Southwest Quadrant and the issues that affect us. 

For the first time in 12 years congress is finally clearing the way for low power community based stations to apply for FCC permits to operate. Such a station might be on the air continuously…
