Little Theater movie fundraiser for the 19th WCA.

Do you want to see a great movie and raise money for the 19th Ward Community Association all at the same time?  Then buy a ticket from the Association office (328-6571) or any 19th WCA delegate or officer today.

Here's how it works.  You buy a fundraiser ticket for $15, and $8 of that goes to the 19th WCA.  You then turn in your fundraiser ticket at the Little Theater box office on Sunday, March 18 (this coming Sunday) to see any movie that is playing that day. …

Energy Provider Warning-Solicitors

There was a segment on WHAM 13 News Thursday warning about door-to-door solicitors, who say they can save you money on your gas and electricity bills.  Have seen comments here previously mentioning this practice.  I have had about 3 such people at my door.  The warning from WHAM is do not show them your RG&E bill, as they can pick up info and switch you to their company without any other permission and without your knowledge.   RG&E said if this has or will happen, contact them and…

SPAM .... not a food being locally served but something that seems to be happening here!

I have sent an email to John and Marian but am posting here with the hope that others will note that it appears our page has been 'spammed' - by this I mean that a single member has joined every conceivable 'group' and is posting the same message over and over and over again. "SPAM" can make groups/discussions very difficult as people who visit the website have to wade through the spam to get to the 'real' discussions. If you're trying to 'follow' a discussion you've likely received many…

Great News for All City Neighbors

At the November 15 meeting of Rochester’s City Council, the members unanimously voted to pass a Complete Streets Policy.  “Complete Streets” is a term for streets designed to enable safe, attractive, and comfortable access and travel for all users.  This includes pedestrians, bicyclists, motorists and public transport users of any age and ability.  An ideal Complete Street for example, might have large sidewalks on both sides of the road, clearly labeled pedestrian crosswalks, and bicycle…

Be sure to check out what other groups are doing.

If you check out what the various groups on location19 are doing, you may find that some have common goals with your own.

Location19 currently has 47 groups.  Only 20 of them show on the column to the right but 27 have scrolled off the bottom of that listing as new groups get added to the top of the list.  To see all the groups go to the Connect tab above.  When the cursor hovers over Connect you will get a drop-down menu of options.  The top…

Turkey Visits for Dinner

We had an unexpected guest for dinner last Friday.  His dinner, not ours!   He spent about half an hour by the bird feeder.  Never before seen a turkey in the yard on Enterprise St.

Thurston Crime ?

Anyone have info on Thurston at Enterprise blocked off early Sunday morning?  Police blocked road off, put up crime scene tape, in front of Thurston Bar and Grill across to former Sensuous Satiables store.  Cleared at 9:30 AM.   Crime tech unit was there, with police cars blocking road.  Also fire department, so it may have been a house issue.  No idea, as I was on my way to work and could not stop to check.  The street was closed for at least an hour prior to that.

Today is Election Day

Today is Election Day. So I need you to get out and Vote! Monroe County has a number of important races. The outcome of these races will have an impact on everyone living in Monroe County for some time. Because I am involved in crime issues, and also have restarted Court Watch in Southwest Rochester, I know that who my Supreme Court Judge, County Court Judge, and City Court Judge are, really does make a difference in my quality of life. There are times when through Court Watch we advocate for… Continue
