Today Emani , Bralynnn , Miss shelby , and I took a walk down Genesee , & we went into 12 Bussinesses , and we asked them a few questions / interviwed them . Today me and some friends went out to interveiw some bussiness and to see if any owners hire youth. I feel that it went well because i try to ask good questions so they people could answer them. Some bussines hire youth some dont . I was a good day.

We went interviewing business in the neighborhood of thurston and arnett to see if they hired youth. Most businesses did not want to hire youth because they are not legal to use equipment. It was ok to do something new.

This post is as much an appeal as it is an update. We have started putting posters and flyers in all the southwest quadrant rec centers and schools. This week we began handing out initial signup sheets to gauge potential player and parent interest. We should be putting flyers, posters and signup sheets in local places of worship next week. Thought I'd post an update on the progress of restarting little league in the 19th ward.
To date I've met the district commissioner and the chair of the eastside little league. We are progressing. Sometimes its best to start over and thats what we are doing. We will be expanding the league boundaries to include nearly all the southwest quadrant.

The initial meeting to try and re-establish little league baseball in the 19th got of to a good dat art yesterday at Aenon Baptist church. Yesterdays meeting proved again that often you don't need a room full of people just a rom with the right people.
Great ideas were shared and we have been promised re-organizational help from Little league International as well as lots of local experienced help.

Found an old pic of the SW Community CERT team just prior to a Chemical Disaster Drill involving area hospitals: Strong, Highland, Park Ridge and Rochester General. The drill was conducted w/o prior knowledge to the hospitals to see if their drill procedures were in place!
