Because we were supposed to have Mary Spinelli from RIT present to our group about her research project about "Community Views on Criminal Justice" we did not have police officers join us. Counterfeit scammers are on the prowl !

Be on guard for large counterfeit bills being passed.  Just received this warning from a friend:

Southwest quadrant faith communities are noted for their welcomeness, generosity and outreach to persons in real need. This open-hearted attitude makes members vulnerable to persons who exploit kindness for personal gain. Please avoid being scammed by persons seeking change for an undisclosed amount of money for seemingly legitimate needs. The…

Furniture Distributor Needed for SouthWest Quadrant

We have been trying to find a group or church on the west side of the city that we can refer people to to get help with furniture.  We have a large area of our own to serve and just can't cover any more of Rochester than we already do.  We tried once before; we had over a 6 month waiting period to  visit them and give them  furniture.  So we had to circle our wagons and stick to our parish area. (the northeast)  I would love to meet with…

Can the 19th Ward support a. florist?

I don't know how many if you remember Anytime Flowers that was on Chili in the 80's but that was mine. I am thinking about going back into the business with a mystical twist. Do you think the neighborhoid could support a florist?

Health Care Navigator

I have been informed that a Health Care Navigator will be at the Arnett Branch Library on Dec. 11 from 11 to 4 PM.  A navigator can be most helpful in showing you what plans would be most beneficial for you.  Some people have deadlines of Dec. 15 to be able to renew NYSofHealth plans.  You must if you have not received notice that your current plan has been renewed.  I have been informed mine was not renewed as they did not have enough information, due to household changes (or incompetency,…
