From YNN, I just read that someone stole a truck and crashed it into a convenience store on Plymouth Ave early this morning. Then later crashed it into a Store on Chili Ave and stole some items. Later they abandoned the truck on Magnolia St.
Some pretty violent and bold moves I would say. Does it mean that they feel like they know they can get away with such acts in our neighborhoods?…

I know that this is not directly related to the 19th Ward. But I feel strongly about the health care debate, and that reform is greatly needed. I do not have health insurance, and can not afford it. So to those who think the system does not need to be fixed. I beg to differ. We need to stop trying to scare each other for political purposes, and do what is right for the nation as a whole. Let have a true debate, that we can be proud of. Debate, compromise and… Continue

I wanted to let you know, that if you have any photos that you think would look good on the top of Location19, please feel free to drop them in an email to me. I will look through them, and choose the ones that will work the best for the area I have to fit them into. I tend to shy away from photos of people, unless you have a models release, or unless you can not immediately identify who they are. They only other thing I… Continue

You can now get to location19 by typing in www.location19.org (the ".com" was taken). The original Ning address (https://location19.ning.com/) is still valid, and you should not see any problems with using either web address.
I felt it was time for Location19 to finally grow up and have it's own domain name. If you do experience any problems, please feel free to drop me an email.

Last night at approximately 6:30pm a silver Impala pulled over in front of our house. There were several people in the car including a female in the passenger seat. A young male exited the rear driver side door and the vehicle drove off. The young male (black, thin to average weight, grey sweatshirt, dark colored ball cap) started walking east on Marlborough then he turned and quickly (almost running) went into Kathy's backyard and jumped over her fence… Continue

Sheri just shared this information with me. Anthony and I were at the Little last night when this happened. There was a police car at the neighbors house when we got home. Because someone last week ran down the street light in fron of our house, it was too dark to tell that something had happened! Watch out for crazy drivers on Penhurst!

I've been following the recent Renaissance Square project/debate and would be interested in hearing more about how our elected City Officials viewed this project. I've seen Dana Miller's comments on TV and in the newspaper but haven't seen anything from any other city council members. Does anyone have additional information on how various council members viewed this project, how they voted, etc??
Just for your information: When I got home from National Night Out at about 9:00, I noticed a kitchen window wide open and a basement "window" that is actually a piece of thick wood with a round hole through which a dryer hose and vent are fitted kicked in. (A window used to be there.) The kitchen window is directly above the basement dryer vent. A window well sits there.
The two officers who responded--quickly for… Continue

I had a door bell ring from the police last night at 4 AM, as the new neighbors across the street had been robbed. I was still on my computer. I had not seen anything, but when I went out, the street was full of police. They said there was a robbery as the people walked from their car in the driveway to the front door. The robbers came from Thurston Rd.
